Tesla CEO Elon Musk is interested in being involved in former President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign, but is simply too occupied with all of his business responsibilities.
Trump said on the Shawn Ryan Show that Musk “wants to be involved” in some capacity.
“I’d put him in the cabinet, absolutely, but I don’t know how he could that with all the things he’s got going,” Trump said.
“He wants to be involved. Now, look, he’s running big businesses and all that, so , he can’t really — I don’t think he’d be [available] for the Cabinet,” the former President added.
Musk has made it clear that he supports Trump in this November’s election, where he will go up against Vice President and Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
However, while Musk would be an ideal member of Trump’s potential cabinet, should he be elected, it does not seem feasible considering all of Musk’s responsibilities and businesses. Trump entertained the idea of potentially using Musk as a consultant because he could “give you some very good ideas.”
Trump speaks highly of Musk and appreciates his contributions to society. Although he is not a supporter of the widespread EV revolution and transition, Trump says he is a fan of Tesla vehicles.
Earlier this month in an interview with Reuters, Trump called Musk “a brilliant guy.” He would be an ideal choice for a political cabinet, but it seems that it is too far-fetched considering all of Musk’s current responsibilities and projects.
It is no secret investors would also likely not be on board with the idea. After Musk purchased Twitter and turned it into X, many said that Musk was not focused enough on Tesla, and some even called for him to step down.
